This plan typically pays $2000 toward hearing aids for patients who qualify. A written recommendation is required from the patient’s primary care physician in order for the claim to pay.

FYI: We run into trouble when a patient has UHC insurance, would like to get hearing aids, and is not established with a primary care physician. With this type of plan, the patient may go to a walk-in clinic in order to receive the referral for hearing aids.

No deductible is typically required with this benefit.
