Yesterday, we received the news that for the first time in 8 years, we had NOT been awarded as ‘Best of the West’ in the public vote awards for ‘Best Hearing Aid Center’ for 2022.
Having previously won the award many times, my first reaction was one of disbelief as I know that hundreds of our patients voted for us to win just like they do each year.
But all good things must come to an end, and it signifies that Livingston Hearing Aid Center pushed extra hard for their patients, colleagues, and friends to vote for them with the goal of dethroning us and seeking recognition.
I want to take this moment to wish my congratulations to them.
The winner is always chosen based on who receives the most nominations, and this year, they came out on top, fair and square.
But what does this actually mean?
What does it mean to you, the Lubbock community, and the hundreds of local people looking for a hearing care partner to work with to regain control of their lives and achieve better hearing?
In my opinion, I don’t believe it changes too much.
When choosing a hearing care partner in Lubbock, you have several local options available to you.
Each option has its own differences and its own focus. Some focus predominately on a retail-based model of selling hearing aids, and others focus on more of a clinical approach that prioritizes your long-term hearing healthcare.
Similarly, some options look for a large amount of short-term transactions (you’re fit with hearing aids, and then you can schedule an appointment if you need help in the future) and others, like ourselves, focus on a relationship for life, knowing that hearing loss and hearing healthcare is something that you’ll always live with.
The question always comes down to what you’re looking for in a hearing healthcare provider.
To help you to make the best possible decision for yourself or a loved one based on your circumstances and needs, I have two things to share with you.
First, we have created some comparison breakdowns so that you can truly understand the difference between working with us versus both Livingston Hearing Center and Costco.
These highlight some of the big and small differences so that you can make a decision knowing all the facts and details.

Second, I thought I would ask some local people that have been in the exact same situation as you, some of which have worked with the multiple options available, to share their advice and recommendations with you.
At our recent “Patient Appreciation Event,” – they jumped on camera, and here’s what they had to say.
If you have any questions, need any help, or would simply like to speak to a hearing health professional for a no-obligation and friendly conversation to ask any questions, then we’re here to help.

No matter what happens in this crazy world, our patients remain the center of ours.
