Picoso’s Mexican Kitchen

Welcome back to another edition of Love Local!

Today, we’re shining the spotlight on Picoso’s, a beloved Mexican kitchen that’s been serving up delicious food and warm hospitality in Lubbock for years.

We want to share why Picoso’s deserves some love from our community.
Why is it important to support local businesses?

Local businesses are the heart of our community. They support the local economy. Local business owners genuinely care about the community because they live here and are 100 percent invested. They have to treat you right, because they might run into you at the grocery store!

Now, let’s talk about Picoso’s.

A Look at Picoso’s Mexican Kitchen

If you’re looking for a restaurant that takes their mission seriously, look no further than Picoso’s Mexican Kitchen. Their dedication to providing an excellent dining experience is evident in every aspect of their establishment, from the wonderful food to the friendly staff and inviting atmosphere.

What Makes Picoso’s Special

The owners, Heather and Jeremy, have been in the restaurant industry for over 20 years, and their passion for hospitality and service is clear from the moment you meet them. They have even dedicated themselves to upholding their core values of integrity, excellence, stewardship, hospitality, and growth on a daily basis, making sure that each guest is treated like family.

But let’s talk about the real reason you’re here: the food.

Picoso’s Mexican Kitchen offers a variety of specialty items that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. Their crispy relleno, a favorite among regulars, is a crispy battered Anaheim pepper stuffed with aged cheddar cheese and topped with creamy hatch green chili queso, served over braised brisket.

“I’ve been a fan of this business since it opened in Lubbock, which is owned by the same family that runs Leal’s. I’ve been a lifelong fan of Leal’s, so naturally, I became a customer of this business as soon as it opened.”

I highly recommend the chili relleno and cheese enchilada plate, along with their house margaritas.

Community Focus and Hospitality at Picoso’s

This establishment certainly deserves recognition for many reasons. To begin with, their prices are reasonable, and they consistently deliver delectable meals. Additionally, they make a concentrated effort to give back to the community on a regular basis, which truly sets them apart.

A recent initiative undertaken was the Tip-A-Cop event that was held in partnership with local law enforcement officers and Special Olympics athletes. The primary objective of this event was to raise funds for upcoming competitions and events that support the athletes in the community. Every dollar raised from the event was crucial to make a difference in the lives of these athletes.

The event was designed to encourage patrons to come and dine while also supporting a noble cause. It also provided an opportunity to meet some inspiring athletes who have overcome obstacles and made a mark in their respective fields. The event aimed to bring people together to show their support and make a positive impact on the community. Their dedication to both quality and community makes them a standout business that is truly deserving of recognition.

What really sets Picoso’s apart, though, is their hospitality. We recently hosted my grandpa’s 90th birthday party there, and the staff went above and beyond to make it special.  We had over 40 people and only paid for our food. Also, we got to bring in our own cake. They did a great job, and the food was awesome!
