Why Has The Latest Apple iOS Update Caused Problems Connecting To My Hearing Aids?

It’s no lie that technology gets the better of all of us from time to time. But what happens when technology gets the better of… itself?

When Apple released its new iOS 13 update on September 19 2019, it initially intended to create a more user-friendly experience with its new features. Usually, Apple iPhones and tablets are set to update when a new software update is available. The new features are typically minor and go unnoticed by most, and people can go back to using their devices as usual as soon the update is complete.

Unfortunately for Apple cell phone users, it has not been so straightforward this time around. The main bug that has occurred with the new software update is an issue connecting external devices to an iPhone/tablet using Bluetooth. Users are now required to give a second permission to use Bluetooth after it has been initially activated, which, understandably has caused some confusion.

As ReSound hearing aids require a Bluetooth connection for the hearing aids to connect to your cell phone, this has caused problems for many of our patients who have come in concerned that there is a problem with their hearing aids. If you have been experiencing these same problems, don’t panic; your hearing aids are not the problem.

We have put together detailed instructions for you, which should get your hearing aids connected in no time. The article will show you how to deal with the challenges presented by the new iOS update, and you will learn how to fix two of the most common problems.
