Hoping this newsletter finds you delighting in the fall weather (now that winter has passed… ☺) and enjoying the friends and family around you.
Each month that passes in 2020 seems to get more and more strange, but it’s nice to step back and appreciate the blessings in front of us.
What will you do for Thanksgiving?
We would love to hear your plans.
My immediate family, my parents, and my grandfather usually get together for a traditional Thanksgiving lunch.
I am enclosing my Mommo’s Thanksgiving Dressing. It is one of my all-time favorite foods. I’m sure your dressing is good too, but it can’t be this good.
MOMMO’S THANKSGIVING DRESSING
- 3 pans of cornbread, crumbled (about 6 cups)
- Seasoned Bread Crumbs (I used pepperidge farm in the blue package)
- 3 boiled eggs crumbled
- About 2 tbsp ground sage (can’t get enough of this!)
- Sauteed celery and onion (2 1/2 cups)
- 1-2 cans of chicken broth (maybe more)
- At least 4 cups of water (make it kind of runny)
1. Use pastry blender and blend all together. Add salt to taste, but not too much! Leave out 2 big spoonfuls of dressing for gravy.
2. Bake in a large casserole dish at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes.
3. For the giblet gravy, cut up giblets that come in a bag with turkey. Boil until tender. Let cool. Peel off skin.
4. Put in a pot with a can of chicken broth and part water (Make sure it is not too greasy). Add a little salt.
5. Put in the dressing you have saved out along with 2 smashed up boiled eggs.
I like to substitute chicken wings for giblets and boil them with skin on for 30 minutes on low.
6. Thicken with water and cornstarch.

CLEAR MASKS FOR THE WIN!
We get asked all the time about our clear masks. The reason we are wearing these is so that our patients can benefit from visual cues during their appointments. It is amazing to me how much I rely on visual cues and I have normal hearing! People with hearing loss really need a visual cue to help in understanding.
We have ordered a limited stock of clear masks and would love to offer them to anyone in our community for $15 each. This donation will be given to Meals on Wheels to help them with their needs this holiday season. Reply to this email to reserve yours or stop by curbside and we will bring one out. Thank you for your support of Meals on Wheels!
PATIENTS WHO MAKE OUR DAY
Your responses to our emails over the pandemic have been one of the major highlights for me!
Thanks to Phil Crenshaw (who is 98 years old by the way) for always replying to my emails with a typed and hand-delivered letter.
This time he even brought me chocolate!
It’s such a privilege to work with patients like you, Phil!
Click here to nominate a loved one today and tell us why they are deserving of better hearing this holiday season! We are so excited!
AUDIOLOGIST COURTNEY ARNOLD IS
SEEING PATIENTS IN SNYDER
We wanted to brag on our local celebrity, Dr. Courtney Arnold as she is now seeing patients in her hometown of Snyder on Tuesdays.
Not to worry, Lubbock… she is still available in our Lubbock office the other 4 days of the week.
Did you know that Dr. Arnold is soon to be a published author as her research from her doctorate is being published soon!
Give her a congrats next time you see her!
HALLOWEEN WAS SO MUCH FUN!
Did you drive up trick or treat at our office no one guessed our theme this year as we were girls from the 1950s!
We had a great time and loved running treats out to your car, thanks for playing along, y’all are the best!
